According to a recent report by Ray Morgan Research, Crowne Plaza hotels in Australia lead the pack in terms of customer satisfaction, but the competition remains close. Crowne Plaza customer satisfaction ratings were running at 90% on average, well above the industry average of 79%.
They were followed closely by Mantra hotels at 88% and Hilton at 87%, with Sheraton and Westin rounding out the top 5. Intercontinental hotels saw the biggest drop in customer satisfaction year on year, with their ratings falling by a full 7 percentage points. The top hotels are all competing for the same premium customers , and marketing efforts to reach these customers must be highly targeted to the forms of media they use most. These customers tend to be higher income and work in professional jobs, and they are also more likely to read business magazines and other financial media outlets.
