The History of Brundah.
The land had been originally proclaimed as the site for the Ballina town hall, however the Crown resumed the land in February 1892 and sold it at auction in July 1908 for 158.2.8 pounds to Mr Roy Lang, a prominent stock and station agent who built Brundah for the cost of 556.1.0 pounds in 1908.
Roy and his new wife Charlotte lived all their married life at Brundah with their four daughters. A portion of the property was subdivided off in 1946 following Roy Langs death. Charlotte continued to live at Brundah until her death in 1980 at the age of 102 years.
Brundah, meaning "Our Happy Home", is enriched by an ambience of period features such as an elegant entrance hall, polished rosewood floorboards, high ornate ceiling, open mantle fireplace, timber staircase, federation pedestal arch, moulded skirting and architraves and french doors spilling on to broad return verandahs.
The historical residence sits on half an acre of lush landscaped surrounds ideal for garden parties.
More details of Brundah's history can be discovered in our Library, available to you at your leisure.
